Smart Cycle & Cold Trap | Heatless Dryer | Blowers | Closed Loop Fluid Coolers | Aftercoolers | Filters

Smart Cycle®/Cold Trap®

  • Electronic controller delivers compressed air 2 to 4 times dryer than others and provides consistent dew point at all times
  • Digital Readout displays actual dew point temperature
  • Full "Cycling" Thermal Bank mode turns dryer on and off in response to demand and saves energy
  • "Non-Cycling" mode withSmart Cycle®demand control saves energy and provides a tight dew point range
  • Cold Trap® configuration delivers "oil-free" air with lowest pressure drop
  • Built in electronic drain provides positive condensate removal
  • Diagnostic display panel with digital code readouts analyze dryer operation
  • Two year limited warranty
  • Guarantee

AIRTEK's award winning Smart Cycle® and Cold Trap® refrigerated air dryers are Dual Mode dryers. That is, they can operate in either a full "Cycling" (on/off) mode or in "Non-Cycling" demand control mode. They deliver compressed air 2 to 4 times dryer than conventional dryers and use as little as half as much energy. For energy savings, the dryers are equipped with standard "Dual Mode Demand Control".The standard control panel includes a Digital Dew Point Readout that displays actual dew point temperature, a Diagnostic Display Panel with a Digital Code Readout and protective shutdowns with common alarm and a dry contact for; high dew point, low refrigerant and refrigeration system interruption.

SPECIFICATIONS

The standard control panel also includes an Electronic Drain control and Mode selector. Available options include: dual hour meters, a PLC interface and a remote control panel.

The dryers are available in two configurations. The SC or standard Smart Cycle® package uses a high efficiency mechanical separator for liquid collection whereas the CT or Cold Trap® configuration employs a two stage, combination, Moisture Separator/Cold Coalescer, to deliver Oil Free Compressed Air.

Dual Mode Demand Control

AIRTEK Smart Cycle® and Cold Trap® refrigerated air dryers can operate in either of two energy saving modes; "Cycling" or "Non-Cycling" with demand control.

Thermal Bank (stop/start) Mode for Full "Cycling" Operation

The full cycling "Thermal Bank" (stop/start) mode is usually selected for operation when less than full load is expected from the air compressor (i.e. third shift, weekends, etc..). When operating in the "Thermal Bank" cycling mode the refrigeration compressor turns "ON or OFF" in response to the temperature of the compressed air exiting the main heat exchanger. When the temperature of the compressed air falls to the low set point, the Smart Cycle® controller starts the "OFF" cycle sequence. The sequence generates a "Thermal Bank" of cold storage in the main heat exchanger. "Thermal Banking" prevents frequent cycling and reduces the dew point spikes inherent to mass only types of cycling dryers. When the compressed air temperature rises to the controllers upper set point, the refrigeration compressor turns back "ON".
